MARTIN LAU

Martin Lau (*1984 in Magdeburg) is an author, musician and vocal-performer. He works on the borderline of language and music, where both fall into one or are not longer distinguishable. His texts are musically composed cascades of articulation that permanently change between different languages, employing forms like poems, rap and soundpoetry. He performs them in the shape of rock songs, contemporary classical music and experimental vocal performances. He wrote for Kaj Duncan David, Jealousy Party and Els Vandeweyer among others.

As a vocalist and soundpoet he gained a name in the fields of free improvisation, noise and experimental music and is an active force in the berlin underground.

He has published a volume of poetry and two CDs of solo voice that got internationally recognized.
